Strings

Replacement Strings
We strongly recommend purchasing replacements that are made by Dusty Strings. You are then guaranteed they will be identical to the original strings, and you will get the best performance and sound. Please read the Strings and Tuning section of our harp features page for a description of how and why we make our own harp strings. If your dealer doesn’t stock replacement harp strings, you may order them directly from us. We sell harp strings in complete sets for each model we make, and also individually. To order strings from us, please download our Harp String Order Form to organize what you need, then phone, fax or mail it in.  You can also download our 4-page guide with information and diagrams on Replacing Harp Strings. Complete string charts for all our harp models are also available for download, and you can refer to our video and diagrams for help tying the harper's knot.

Gut strings, instead of nylon, are available as an option on new harps. You can read more about it in Strings and Tuning. If you want to put gut strings on an existing Dusty Strings model, we can provide you with a recommended stringing chart. Please call for more information.

Note: If you order a complete string set, don’t be alarmed if the set comes with fewer strings than you have on your harp. Since each replacement string is 46" long, and some of the higher notes are a lot shorter than that, one length of nylon can be used to string two or three notes. To keep your costs down we have included only the strings you actually need to restring the harp.
